ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Dr. Nakeema Stefflbauer is the CEO and solo founder of FrauenLoop since 2016. Named one of Female One Zero’s “Changemakers: 10 Women Who Make A Difference”, her tech career began after a lengthy period of research in North Africa and the Middle East on social and economic aspects of migration, informal labor and black-market trade. Following stints at the American University in Cairo, the American University of Beirut, and various French and US institutes in Syria and in the Maghreb, she turned to leading digital software development and delivery programs for corporate and institutional clients such as the New York Stock Exchange, NYMEX, New York University and Fidelity Investments.
Dr. Stefflbauer holds MA and PhD degrees from Harvard University, a BA from Brown University, and an executive MBA from the disruptive Quantic School of Business and Technology. Along with developing FrauenLoop’s professional workshop series and research reports, Dr. Stefflbauer has built EU Parliament and European civil society organization partnerships. She was a core participant in the Decolonising Digital Rights initiative and is a stakeholder advisor to the Dutch ALGOSOC (Public Values in the Algorithmic Society) programme. She sits on the extended Board of the German Startups Association, invests in tech startups privately and as an Atomico angel investor, and maintains academic ties to the University of Edinburgh and Stanford University.
